Millard senior Conner Cox placed fourth in the boys 2A final at the Utah UHSAA Cross Country State Championships, clocking 16:45.8 on the 3-mile course at Sugarhouse Park and Highland High. Cox recovered from a back injury during the summer that nearly left him paralyzed to lead Millard to its third consecutive championship with a 72-83 victory over Emery. Cox was the team's seventh runner at last year's final, placing 83rd in 20:48.4.
