Ava Trimble, a senior at Orem High, placed second in the Class 4A girls state final by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:34.5 at the Utah High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City. Trimble improved from finishing 17th in the Class 5A final last season in 19:00.0, leading Orem to a third-place team effort with 101 points.
