Adelaide Englestead, a junior at Panguitch High, held off sophomore teammate Tabi Henrie in the girls 1A final by a 19:35.7 to 19:35.8 margin on the 5-kilometer layout at the Utah High School Activities Association state championship meet at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City. Englestead repeated as champion, leading four scorers in the top 11 for Panguitch, which prevailed for the second straight year with a 21-40 victory over Bryce Valley. Englestead, who edged Kinley Spaulding of Milford by a 19:29.7 to 19:30.3 margin last year at Cedar High, extended the streak of individual champions for Panguitch to five in a row.
